Early in 2008 a group of teachers are meeting with the RESource team to give us some feedback on its content and presentation and suggest possible future directions. Very attractive Advent Calendars suitable for home and primary classroom use are available from the Office for Evangelisation. In the form of a tree to which decorations are added, each decoration features a line of  scripture and a suggestion as to an activity for each day. $15 from 94123325.

An interview with William Cavanaugh that explores some of his thoughts on the relationship between the Church and public life? Though he is speaking of the American context many of his thoughts are pertinent to us in Australia too.

The October edition of Dialogue Australasia, a magazine devoted to exploring values, philosophy and religious studies which is devoted to the topic of Beauty. This is the magazine of Dialogue Australasia Network which aims to take values education more seriously. The magazine is consistently worth reading especially for secondary RE teachers.

Over the past year or two there has been lots of controversy over creationism and the supposed conflict between science and religion. You might like to have a look at the RESource unit on The Creation Stories to help clarify the issue.

Escalating interest rates are topical at the moment and their impact on the ability of especially the less well-off raises questions about society's responsibility to the most needy. Why should we care?   

October 31st this year marked the 490th anniversary of the beginning of the German Protestant Reformation. Read about the background, personalities and events of the Reformation and its impact on Church history then and now.
