Welcome

It's year's end and Advent begins this Sunday. A fine thoughtful article from The Tablet is worth a look for yourselves while the Cyberfaith Advent site and also this Advent one would help teachers of junior secondary and primary students with many seasonal ideas. Don't forget our Advent Feature Issue (on the left) either. Enjoy the holidays!

A planning guide for  school liturgies (see the end of year guidelines) and the Prayer of St Brendan in the Worship module would be helpful for use in preparing end of year liturgies.

The new Archdiocesan Office for Youth website Pray Witness Serve is now online. It is very attractively designed and the content is gradually building.

Boston College's Centre for Christian/Jewish Learning tutorials on the infancy narratives of the Gospels of Matthew and Luke are succinct and helpful. There is also a tutorial on the four Passion narratives of the gospels which you might like to bookmark for Lent/Easter next year.

Damaris Advent page is also worth a look. The whole site is up to date and contains very useful CD, DVD and current film reviews and suggestions about how these can be used in RE.

Have you seen:

A Well Founded Fear introduces a film investigating stories of refugees sent back by Australian authorities to dangerous, sometimes deadly situations. A study guide to the film might help your class unpack it.

The economic downturn is likely to have a significant impact on the people who can least afford it according to ACOSS. Some things don't change.
